Objectively speaking about Autumn leaves......

It’s a bit blistery outside today. Yesterday was spent part of the day clearing autumn leaves into a collection location…. today…..well, let's just say, can’t tell I did a thing out there…. I do love trees, but until they finish shedding their leaves, we are going to be on no speaking terms. My goodness. My OCD tendencies are coming to the surface a bit, I guess. But still love this time of year. And happy for the rustling of leaves in the wind and a little rain.

Yesterday we had our Asst Police Chief honored in his funeral services held at our church building (he died of complications from stroke and aneurysm). Sad deal. Anyway, down at our church the street and paths are lined with dozens of American flags. And up at the cemetery as well. While we were up there walking yesterday morning, there were police vehicles all over the place. It was a beautiful day, too. One frequent exercise gentleman ask us what all of the commotion was about…. It’s all quite a tribute to this man who was only in his early 50’s. Something about American flags waving in the breeze always leaves me in awe. And I love to see people honored with special tributes and recognition. The flags get us in the mood for Veterans Day coming up and Election Day on Tuesday. (Don’t forget to vote) The only bad thing about that is all the negative and evil things that start circulating at Election time. I’ll be glad when we can see some good things happen after the election. Hope we get some good results. On the docket is a Bill trying to legalize medicinal marijuana in Utah (how in the world do you spell that word anyway?) I have seen plenty about the tragedies and unemployment from that stuff in NZ …. kinda scary. Leave lots of grief in its wake. (Post note: It passed....legalized medicinal marijuana in Utah.... opening the door for a lot of access and abuse. The gateway drug to heavier drugs).

I hope everyone was on board for their daylight savings time change. Kinda throws the sun up and sun down at a new warp of time. It’s nice when bedtime and nighttime have a happy connection, though. Wish they didn’t do daylight savings at all… throws us off for a bit getting re-climatized.

I had an MRI done to my right shoulder this week. No one warned me it would be as it was. I wondered why they ask if I was claustrophobic…. now I know. I wasn’t warned that it would be painful either. Left my shoulder in a more tender condition…. Dave came behind me at the grocery store after and said “Boo!”….It so happened it scared me pretty bad…. Whatever I did to my shoulder in the frightened reaction I had was enough to nearly put me right down. Hurt sooo bad. Dave was apologetic, and took good care of me the rest of the day…As I retired to bed wondering how I was ever going to sleep, I was surprised again (in the dark) by Dave sitting beside me for our couple prayers…. Caught me off guard and needless to say, my shoulder was not a willing participant in that activity and put me in tears this time. We brought out the heavy meds for pain relief and I slept pretty good after all that. Took a couple days to get any motion going without wincing in pain, so doing my hair and just about anything else took a backseat. I’m doing ok now…. still not great, but better. I see the Dr tomorrow with the MRI results and we will get the verdict of his recommendations…. I fear surgery might be on the docket. Shute. (and that’s a mild version of what I want to say about that).

One of our grandsons, a senior in High School, was just in a fun (energetic) production of “Newsies” at his school. It was very well done, and it was fun to watch our grandson perform. No inhibitions, just full on and enjoying the experience. Left me short of breath wondering how they kept up that energy level. It was good, and glad we were able to attend. We watched another energy packed basketball game another of our teenage grandsons played yesterday… He scored half their points and hardly had a rest in the entire game. We were questioning what the birth certificates said on a couple of the players on the other team. They were big. Kind of an unfair advantage there, but it was a fun game to watch…. Giving hugs to sweaty little ball players after is always a memorable experience. He’s a good little ball player.
